Can’t make it to the museum during our normal weekday hours?

Join us at one of our themed monthly museum lates for an opportunity to explore our exhibitions after hours! These extended openings allow visitors to see the space in a unique and hands-on way!

This month’s late will also include a special talk will be given by museum perseverance curator, Hannah Amos, on the history of the Nightingale Training School.

The talk will start at 6:30pm BST and will last around 45 minutes with time for questions at the end and is included in all general admission tickets.

A bar will be open starting at 5:00pm serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks offering the perfect accompaniment to your visit.

All tickets purchased for the monthly museum lates are general admission tickets and will be valid for a full year. All general admission tickets (including those of repeat visitors) will be accepted for these monthly Thursday evening lates.

Thursday 6th August marks Jamaican Independence Day and you are invited to join us in celebration of the wonderful British-Jamaican Doctress- Mary Seacole.

Discover the exciting life of Mary Seacole told in her own words with our interactive performances, learn about how she aided soldiers during the Crimean War and earned the nickname ‘Mother Seacole’. Witness history in a completely unique and fun way.

You can also have a go at diagnosing a soldier and finding the best herbal remedy to help them recover with our interactive mix a medicine activity.

Performances are at 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm and last approximately 30 minutes. Mix a medicine is a drop in activity available from 10:00am-4:30pm.

All performances are included in general admission. Tickets are available for purchase online or in-person.

All tickets purchased through the museum are annual passes allowing you unlimited entry for 12 months!

Listen as the ‘mother of modern nursing’ tells you her story in her own words.

Find out how Miss Nightingale overcame societal pressures to become a nurse, why she went to the Crimea, how she earned the nickname ‘the Lady with the Lamp’, and how she improved the conditions for the soldiers and nurses.

Discover the remarkable story of this historical icon and then explore the museum itself, which houses many of her actual historical artifacts!

These performances are free with admission and last approximately 30 minutes.

Performances are at 11:30am, 1:30pm, and 3:30pm. Tickets can be purchased online or in-person.

Exclusive Hire of the Florence Nightingale Museum is truly unique because when you hold an event here you are actually hosting it in the museum itself! This means your guests have exclusive access to all our exhibitions and are surrounded by history and artifacts during the whole event. This space can host up to 80 guests standing and has options of seating up to 45 people. Hire of the space includes a projector and screen with podium. This section is also known as our ‘performance space’ so it offers excellent lighting and acoustics. Additional sound equipment is available for hire through St. Thomas Hospital if desired. Catering and bar quotes are available through inquiry, including optional corkage fee to bring your own drinks. Additional add-ons, suck as tours or Florence Nightingale / Mary Seacole Performances can also be booked.

Events can last until 11:00pm. However, quieter hours must be observed starting at 10:00pm.

The Florence Nightingale Museum has a performance / presentation area which is ideal for events. However, if additional AV equipment is required, it can be rented through St. Thomas Hospitality on-site.

Can external caterers be used at Florence Nightingale Museum?

Yes! The Florence Nightingale Museum has a strong relationship with a local female-owned bakery - Nal's Bakery - specializing in sweet and savory items . However, you can always use a different external caterer for your events! We will request a copy of the caterer's public liability insurance prior to the event.
