The Marquee is one of the event spaces, and is situated in the part-moated gardens with captivating views across the rolling countryside. This semi-outdoor space features a custom built bar and lounge seating area, fairy lights, a dance floor with a starlit ceiling canopy, and glamorous chandeliers. Imagine this billowing marquee in the summer, light and airy during the daytime where you serve afternoon tea and dainty sandwiches, or in the dark of night, as your guests dance the night away.

The De Beauvoir Suite is located in the main venue, and is one of two function rooms that is better suited to more intimate events, with 25 to 36 able to be seated in this charming, cosy space. The Orangery is the other of the main venue's intimate event spaces, and Downham Hall's smallest, with a capacity of 10 to 24 guests. Boasting a large, custom-built bar and lounge seating area, chandeliers and fairy lights and complete with dancefloor area, with starlit ceiling canopy, our marquee is perfect for both daytime and evening events hosting anywhere from 30 to 180 guests. It is fully heated during the cooler months, can be opened along one side to make the most of the gardens during the summer and with plenty of space both indoors and out, it is the perfect year-round setting.

The venue is stunning – a beautiful country house in a peaceful location, yet only about 20 minutes from our HQ. The team at Downham Hall were incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional throughout the planning and on the day itself, making everything run so smoothly.The decorations looked amazing, the afternoon tea was delicious, and the setting created such a warm, celebratory atmosphere for our event. We had my baby shower at Downham Hall and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. The venue is beautiful, and the atmosphere was just perfect for such a special occasion. A huge thank you to Steve, who was absolutely exceptional his attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism really stood out.Working in hospitality myself, I know how rare it is these days to find such genuine and friendly service, and I was so pleased to experience it here. Every detail was looked after and the whole team made us feel incredibly welcome.We’re already planning to come back for one of the pizza and music nights can’t wait! Outstanding VenueMARCH, 2025

We held an event for 86 people in November in their Marquee which was a resounding success so we decided to go back there for another event for 34 people in their newly refurbished North Wing Restaurant. Absolutely perfection. Room layout first class. Staff, they couldn’t do enough for us. Not just on the day but on the build up. So accommodating. Thank you to Christina, Debra, Ben and Andy in particular however the rest of the staff were first class. As for the chef, wow everyone said how good the food was. Highly recommend going there. Can also say others who attended and never been there before said they will definitely return with their family and friends.
