Crazy Bear Country is a five-star hotel set in the Oxfordshire countryside, with its private event spaces built around a striking Glasshouse. Originally a 16th-century public house, the venue combines rustic charm with eclectic, high-end styling, making it a versatile pick for birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers and corporate gatherings alike.
The Glasshouse is the venue's showpiece, offering 3,500 sq ft of event space and a private bar. It opens onto an opulent Moroccan Lounge, which can be transformed into your own private dance floor, and an expansive terrace beyond. The space holds up to 200 guests for a seated dinner or 250 for a standing reception with canapés and drinks. Outside, Moroccan booths and a private al fresco bar create a stylish spot for pre-dinner drinks, while a fairy-lit woodland copse sets a magical backdrop for evening celebrations. An integrated sound system runs seamlessly from indoors to out, so the party doesn't miss a beat when guests spill onto the terrace.
For smaller gatherings, the venue offers a choice of more intimate spaces. The wood-panelled Log Cabin, with its deer antler chandeliers and gilt-framed artwork, holds two to 14 guests, while the Boardroom suits meetings or private dinners for two to 10. Larger groups can take over the Woodland Marquee, which accommodates 10 to 100.
Catering is handled entirely in-house by the Crazy Bear kitchen team, who can tailor menus to the occasion, from formal dining to relaxed buffets and canapés. Guests can dine from an expansive Feasting Menu, which offers three tiers of group set menus. Each menu (The Feast, The Grand Feast and The Signature Feast) includes a variety of snacks, starters, mains, sides and desserts. Dishes include whole roast chicken, prawn cocktail, braised beef short ribs and Basque cheesecake.
With its quirky decor, flexible spaces and countryside setting just off the M40, Crazy Bear Country is built for hosts who want their event to feel a little different from the ordinary.
