Alfriston Gardens works perfectly for a corporate gathering bringing together a rustic, barn-style Sussex-based venue, a dedicated event lodge and two acres of landscaped grounds beside the South Downs National Park, all with an impressive capacity of 155 guests.
Although best known as a wedding venue, the site is equally geared towards business and private events. Corporate away days, team-building sessions, wellbeing retreats, conferences, award ceremonies and Christmas celebrations can all be accommodated, with evening parties possible for up to 155 guests. Exclusive hire is a standard, giving you and your guests access to the barns, gardens and wider venue for a fully private event.
The barns are the largest spaces. The restored Century Barn is designed as a flexible reception space, with a mezzanine and reclaimed theatre seating adding a lounge area. The adjoining Woodland Barn measures 24 metres by eight metres and can host up to 155 guests. Skylights bring in natural light, while a bi-fold glass wall opens onto decking and the gardens, creating an easy flow between indoors and outside. Facilities include bespoke lighting, air conditioning, heating, a PA system, plus a fully equipped catering kitchen and bar.
For smaller corporate gatherings, the Oak Lodge is a great option. It accommodates up to 70 seated or 100 standing and works well for seminars, away days, wellness sessions and informal receptions. Wi-Fi is included, AV and PA equipment can be hired, furniture rental is part of the package and layouts can be configured around the event.
The gardens give Alfriston a real stand-out feature. Designed by RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medallist Juliet Sargeant, the two-acre grounds are stunning and offer something you won't find elsewhere nearby. Subtle outdoor lighting means they work beyond daylight hours, while the wildflower glamping meadow has views towards the Long Man of Wilmington.
