Even its smaller spaces are sure to impress thanks to original period features, high ceilings and large windows. The Council Room, Mall Room and Lee Library are all beautiful options, while all its meeting rooms include the option to hire extra AV facilities, an events team to help you plan every detail and dedicated registration areas.  

There are a number of rooms suited to larger events, such as conferences. Discover the Wolfson Room and Lecture Room, both of which offer lots of flexibility with the help of built-in conferencing capabilities, such as screens, projectors, a stage and PA system.

The Council Room is a grand, traditional space, with impressive paintings on the walls, on loan from the National Portrait Gallery. The bay windows overlooking the gardens of Carlton House Terrace and Duke of York statue up to Waterloo Place bring in lots of natural light to show off the impressive ceiling, chandeliers and brilliantly varnished floors. The alcove space can serve as an attractive centre point for the room, providing space for a grazing lunch table for a meeting, bar, DJ or small stage for receptions. It is also a wonderful focal point for wedding photos and cake tables. This room pairs very well with the adjoining Music Room as an alternative space for a meeting lunch, or for pre or post dinner drinks reception.

The Lee Library’s bookcases and carpet give the room a warm, intimate feeling, like a relaxed London club room. Indeed, it was used as such when the Union Club owned the building in the 20s, and this room was a dining room for club members. The double aspect gives it amazing light, with windows overlooking The Mall and St James' Park, perfect for daytime board meetings or early evening book launches. The space is equipped with discreet in built technology so is as ideal for board meetings as it is for dining and entertaining.

When Prime Minister Gladstone lived at number 11, this historic room was the centre of musical and intellectual salons in London. The large windows bring in plenty of natural light and the decorative painted window blinds draw the eye up to the delicate plasterwork depicting musical instruments. This room is paired with the Beatrice Webb Room and Gallery to make conferences, meetings and workshops flow seamlessly from registration through to lunch and post event networking. The Reading Room has some of the best views of The Mall and St James's Park, and its large windows provide lots of natural light. It was originally four-time Prime Minster William Gladstone’s dining room and he occasionally held cabinet meetings here. The artwork is a series of prints from Tom Phillips’s illustrated translation of Dante’s Inferno. The room has beautiful high ceilings, with soaring arches and an alcove area and includes integrated technology with a built-in screen and PA system. Additional in-house equipment can be incorporated for a seamless hybrid event experience. This is perfect for meetings, small conferences, lectures or press announcements. It adjoins The Library, which works well as a breakout space or catering room, exhibition or networking space.
