Home to the British Academy, this charming St James’s property is located a short distance from Westminster and the West End, and offers a range of grand event spaces. Period features contrast with contemporary art and up-to-date tech, providing rooms ready for modern business needs. It’s regency grandeur also makes it the ideal back drop for evening entertaining and private dining and the whole townhouse is available for exclusive hire if necessary.
One of our favourite spaces within {10-11} Carlton House Terrace is The Lecture Room. This flexible area can accommodate up to 80 guests for a reception style format, or you can host dinners for up to 40 people if you’d prefer a more intimate affair. This is a seriously impressive spot to wow guests with. The Trompe L’oeil painted ceiling is the focal point and was commissioned by the Ridley family in the style of Eugene Delacroix, the leader of the French Romantic school. Not only is it a gorgeous decorative feature, it also makes a great talking point. The pale walls are intricately detailed and huge panelled windows flood the room with light, which is particularly special during the summer months when you want to make the most of the longer days.
Whatever kind of event you’re organising the helpful in-house team are on hand to guide you through each step of your planning process. They’re happy to advise on everything from entertainment and décor through to food and drink.
