This festive season hop aboard The Murdér Express Part Deux: Jewel of the Empire, an immersive theatrical dining experience that's guaranteed to get people talking. Set inside the fictional Pedley Street Station in East London, this vintage train adventure combines live actors, a gripping murder mystery and a three-course meal, making it a brilliantly different choice for everything from office Christmas parties to festive get-togethers with friends.
The story begins in 1937 at the height of the British Empire. Renowned archaeologist Dr Errol Earhart has uncovered the priceless Jewel of the Empire, which is due to travel aboard the Murdér Express. Naturally, things don't quite go to plan. Before long the famous diamond has disappeared, bodies are beginning to pile up and every passenger finds themselves caught up in the investigation. With a colourful cast of characters and plenty of unexpected twists, you'll quickly realise that everyone is a suspect... perhaps even someone at your own table.
The clever illusion of the experience is part of the fun. Although the train never actually leaves the station, the detailed set, theatrical performances and immersive storytelling create the convincing sensation of travelling through 1930s Britain. Guests are encouraged to embrace the theme by dressing in vintage attire, while themed accessories are also available to help complete the look.
Private hire is available for larger groups, making it an inspired option for companies looking to do something memorable at Christmas. Rather than simply sitting down for dinner, your guests become part of the performance, working together to uncover clues while enjoying food and drinks throughout the two-hour experience.
Your ticket includes a three-course meal, with previous menus featuring an amuse-bouche of tapenade and cheese twists, followed by asparagus velouté, roast chicken breast with peppercorn and brandy sauce, creamed potatoes and broccoli, before finishing with chocolate brownie, chocolate sauce and ice cream. The festive menu is expected to change for the Christmas season, offering a seasonal twist while maintaining the same theatrical dining experience. Drinks are available to purchase separately from the bar, which serves cocktails, wines and non-alcoholic options throughout the performance.
