Looking for a Christmas party venue in the City of London? The Don offers a range of spaces for festive celebrations, from intimate dinners to larger office parties, with capacity for up to 80 guests.
Set at the heart of the Square Mile, the venue includes several distinct spaces, each with its own feel. The main restaurant can be hired exclusively for up to 50 guests seated or 80 standing, offering a lighter, more contemporary setting with neutral walls, parquet flooring and white tablecloths. Pops of yellow and blue run through the space, while a minimalist floral mural and a large wraparound bar add to the overall look.
Bar 1970 provides a more relaxed alternative, styled as a Portuguese wine bar with tapas-style dishes and space for up to 80 standing. For smaller gatherings, the Sandeman Room offers a more private setting for 12 to 20 guests, while the Barrel Cellar, with its exposed brick walls and long banquet table, creates a more quirky, atmospheric space for up to 54 diners. Elsewhere, the Bistro Room is another flexible option, accommodating up to 30 seated or 40 standing.
Festive dining is centred around set menus, with two options available depending on budget. Meals begin with an amuse bouche, followed by starters such as parsnip soup with toasted hazelnuts or duck terrine with port wine pears and pickled cucumber. Mains include butternut squash and spinach Wellington, miso-glazed monkfish with celeriac puree, venison haunch steak or sage and onion stuffed turkey with cranberry glaze, all served with roast potatoes, carrots, Brussels sprouts and pigs in blankets. Desserts include Christmas pudding, pear trifle, baked Alaska or a cheese selection, followed by petit fours.
Drinks include a large and diverse wine list, with one of the City’s biggest selections of port, alongside sherry, Madeira and a selection of more unusual finds.
