Browns Cardiff offers Christmas lunches, dinners and parties in its cosy brasserie, with room for both intimate gatherings and large celebrations. Groups can book a table in the main restaurant, reserve the private dining room for up to 10 diners or hire the venue exclusively for as many as 250 seated guests.
Teal-blue and orange velvet seating, wooden floors and modern chandeliers give the interior plenty of colour. Booths create smaller pockets within the main dining room, while plants soften the space. The private room is tucked away from the brasserie, suited to a festive team dinner or a quieter family occasion.
The festive menu follows a traditional three-course format, beginning with choices such as oak-smoked salmon, duck liver parfait or grilled goat’s cheese with caramelised pear salad. Browns’ festive turkey features among the mains, alongside braised blade of beef, cranberry-glazed pork belly and a root vegetable nut roast. Desserts include chocolate torte and a brandy apple, plum and cranberry crumble.
Seasonal cocktails include a Toffee Apple Martini and Raspberry and Fig Royale, with drinks packages available for parties. Champagne, sparkling wine, beer, cider and Scotch whisky feature alongside low- and no-alcohol choices and hot drinks. Larger celebrations can make use of the bar, a grand piano and the option to play your own music.
Christmas Day has its own menu, with turkey served alongside cranberry stuffing, pigs in blankets and red wine jus. Beef Wellington and seared venison steak offer alternatives, followed by puddings such as Christmas pudding with brandy custard or mulled wine and blackberry trifle. Separate Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve menus extend the celebrations beyond Christmas, and gluten-free festive menus are available. Vegetarian, vegan and halal options can also be discussed when arranging a group booking.
