Megan's experience
Megan was one of those children who grew up with her head always in a book - but by the time she reached her early teens, it became a magazine. So, heading off to London from rural Nottinghamshire to study Journalism at the University of the Arts was, for her, a no-brainer.
After graduation, Megan worked as a digital writer across wedding titles like Hitched and You & Your Wedding, as well as food and family magazine, Good to Know, before settling at Stylist, where she held the position of Senior Writer for almost five years. During this time Megan worked on both print and digital, mastered SEO writing techniques, was trained in affiliates content, covered news and features and experienced a few career highlights such as interviewing Mariah Carey and even making it onto the cover.
In 2020, Megan moved brand-side as Interiors Editor at Soho House with a focus on site content, email marketing and social media. But, when her partner scored his dream job in Hamburg two years later, she made the move - both to Germany and the world of freelance. Now, she writes about her favourite things, travel and interiors, for a mix of titles including Conde Nast Traveller, Companion Magazine, ELLE and Citizen Femme, for whom she is a regular contributor and has her own series, Citizen Expat, which explores the highs and lows of being an expat.
