In the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral, Paternoster Chop House champions classic, luxurious British cuisine bringing some glitz and glam back to dishes like steak and mushroom pie, cod and chips and the humble sausage roll. If you feel like you've been here before, you might well recognise Paternoster Chop House from TV, where the restaurants also moonlights as the location for TV favourite First Dates. Paternoster Chop House is all about provenance and celebrating great meat and fish - the fish is all bought from day boats, whilst all the meat is sustainably sourced and butchered in-house, allowing the kitchen team to treat the product properly from start to finish and order a wide range of classic cuts and more interesting dishes.
This large, spacious restaurant is a grand space for a corporate or private event - a colonnade of tall columns marks the entrance, and inside you'll find high ceilings, smart burgundy tablecloths and a sweeping oak and marble bar.
The bar is just one of a number of areas available for private hire - ordinarily the Paternoster bar serves a local working crowd and as a result, it's very well stocked with a diverse selection of wines (including plenty of English wines) and beers, as well as more unusual spirits, Tattinger Champagne cocktails and over 40 different single malt whiskies. The interconnected bar and terrace makes Paternoster Chop House a great space for large groups or small parties - areas for up to 100 people can be reserved in the bar area, with a spacious outside terrace for your guests to enjoy. The terrace is a beautiful spot to enjoy a summer evening, but it's also covered and heated, making it very accessible all year round.
The restaurant is also available for dinners of up to 50 people - Paternoster's events team will work with you to tailor a menu that suits your event, whether that be champagne and canapes, bowl food, or a multi-course sit down banquet.
