Famed for its North Shore Beach, Grade II-listed pier and Victorian architecture, Llandudno is a small town with a lot of intrigue. The Llandudno Pier is also one of the longest in the UK at 700 metres and features an arcade, fairground rides and stalls flogging seaside treats like ice cream and sweets. Perhaps the most iconic feature of this seaside resort is the stunning limestone cliffs of Great Orme that tower over the town jutting into the Irish Sea. The summit is accessible by the town’s historic tramway, built in 1902, that starts from Victoria station and features vintage tram cars for an unforgettable and unique journey to the top. Alternatively, take the cable car for a speedier option that affords panoramic views of the town and coastline.

If you’ll be visiting Llandudno in the summer months, be sure to allow time to visit the North Shore Beach for the perfect family day out. Relax on the sandy shores and brave a dip in the Irish Sea, then finish the day with fish and chips, while taking in the scenic views. If you’re feeling adventurous, there are plenty of excellent hikes around the Llandudno area: stride up the Great Orme and spot the rare local wildlife, such as peregrine falcons, Kashmiri goats and rare flowers.

Once you've worked up an appetite exploring everything Llandudno has to offer, find yourself a suitable spot to relax and refuel at one of its many restaurants.
