Knutsford is a market town in Cheshire, and lies just 14 miles south of Manchester. Although the population in Knutsford is relatively small, there's plenty to do in this sweet, quaint Cheshire town. There are plenty of hidden gems waiting to be explored, so whether you love visiting museums, shopping, hiking, cycling, there's something for everyone. Knutsford was the town that acted as the inspiration for Elizabeth Gaskell's Cranford, as the author lived here for many years, and is buried in the churchyard of Brook Street Unitarian Chapel.
