Just a couple of miles back from the mighty Jurassic Coast, Bridport is a sweet market town on the southern shores of England.

Popular with locals and tourists alike, restaurants in Bridport are the perfect mix of larger name chain brands (which bring with them all the comfort of a familiar menu) and some exciting independent eateries which are run by passionate foodies from the area.

While the main road through the town has a handful of shops and restaurants, there are also cafes, bars and restaurants scattered out towards the edges and all the way down to the seaside, if you fancy wandering a little further. Eype Beach is the closest spot for a swim, which is a gorgeous long stretch of grass covered dunes and golden sands. Near here you’ll find cafes serving up home baking and seafood specialities as well as all the usual soup and sandwiches – the perfect places to grab a packed lunch or settle into for a midday meal away from the salt and sand of the beach.

Special Offers

If you’re making a stay out of your trip there are also a small handful of restaurants in Bridport that are hotels too. These classic British institutions offer you a comfortable place to rest your head while also ensuring you’re well fed on comfort food.

One of our favourite things to eat at any time and at any place is pizza. We’re willing to bet this Italian delicacy is the most popular food worldwide if you did a survey of people’s top meal, and we’re pleased to report pizza is easy to get your hands on in this little corner of England. One of the town’s most coveted restaurants is Jalopy Pizza which serves wood-fired, handmade pies from a converted van for a quirky spin on this family favourite.
