This famously laid-back venue recently moved across the cobbled road from its original berth into the premises formerly occupied by Skippers Bistro. The interior has been tricked out in signature
dark-green paintwork and now looks like a home-from-home, while punters still have access to the coveted sun terrace and floating pontoon overlooking the Water of Leith. The bistro menu keeps its
familiar staples, with the celebrated Stornoway black-pudding Scotch egg and memorable ‘pork plate’ with savoy cabbage and Calvados gravy stealing the limelight – although the new owners have also
adopted Skippers’ fondness for fish. Look for crab cakes, beer-battered haddock, the renowned seafood platter or seared sea trout with stir-fried samphire and crushed sweet potatoes. The drinks
list is extensive, but customers are actively encouraged to BYO (£5 corkage). Related to A Room in the West End.
