We’re particularly excited this week as Alan Yau’s eagerly anticipated Mayfair restaurant, Park Chinois, finally opens its doors after a rumoured £9m fit-out. But whether Turkish tickles your taste buds, you fancy a steak or want to show off your sporting prowess, we’ve got it covered: read on for all the latest openings.

Alan Yau

Park Chinois, Mayfair

When: Monday 9 November, dinner only
What: The eagerly awaited restaurant from Alan Yau (of Babaji, Hakkasan, The Duck and Rice and Sake No Hana) cost an alleged £7m to buy and is rumoured to have had a £9m fit-out: needless to say, it’s one of the biggest openings of the year.
Where: 17 Berkeley Street, W1S 4NF

Oklava Turkish restaurant London

Oklava, Shoreditch

When: Open for soft launch with 50% off food from Wednesday 11 November until Sunday 15 November, due to fully open Monday 16 November
What: After hearing nothing but rave reviews for Selin Kiazim’s residence at Haggerston’s Trip Bar & Kitchen, her first restaurant should be a sure-fire winner. Expect lamb cutlets glazed with çemen (a traditional Turkish fenugreek paste) or lemon sole with charred shallot, parsley and pomegranate dressing.
Where: 74 Luke Street, EC2A 4PY

Orange Elephant restaurant London Fulham steak

Orange Elephant, Fulham

When: Thursday 12 November
What: Steaks are the order of the day at this Fulham offering, which gets its name from the breed of south Devonshire cow where the restaurant sources its beef – the animal in question is the largest breed native to Britain and, after these guys have hung it for a minimum of 32 days, it’s likely to be pretty bleedin’ tasty. Friendly front-of-house staff and a well-chosen drinks list look to create a casual atmosphere, which will no doubt be a welcome addition to the Fulham dining scene.
Where: 351 Fulham Road, SW10 9TW

German Gymnasium London restaurant King's Cross

German Gymnasium, King’s Cross

When: Thursday 12 November
What: D&D restaurants have breathed life into London’s first purpose-built gymnasium, which also played host to the very first modern Olympics. Staying true to the building’s history, a fencing mask here and climbing hooks there remind diners of its athletic past, while the menu in the main restaurant is east-central European-based. Head to the first-floor bar for multisensory cocktails and Berlin beats until 1am.
Where: 26 Pancras Road, NW1 4TB
