This year, as part of our Be the Critic competition, in association with Nespresso, we have been giving away fantastic prizes to readers leaving online reviews – and there are still plenty up for grabs. Find out who has won prizes so far and which treats are still on the table.
Square Meal’s ever-popular Be the Critic competition is in full swing, with a month to go before the Critic of the Quarter for autumn is announced, and a long list of contenders for the 2013 Critic of the Year – announced in January – steadily being drawn up.
In summer, as well as giving away prizes including a Signature Spa treatment for two and Spatisserie afternoon tea at The Dorchester, and a £120 meal at Cinnamon Kitchen, to spring winners Mitzie8cake, Ben H and more, we announced the new prizes up for grabs in the run-up to autumn.
So far, we have awarded a bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier to Monika S for her comments on Balthazar and Restaurant Story, and a single-malt-whisky gift pack – including bottles of The Singleton 12 Year Old, Talisker 10 Year Old and Cardhu 12 Year Old – to Joe B, who has written entertaining reviews of restaurants all over Kent. We also sent a £120 bottle of Hine Antique XO to Foodess for her review of La Trompette.
But there is everything to play for before October. Prizes still to be won include a Champagne afternoon tea at central-London high-flyer Paramount (pictured, above and right), and 30 minutes’ use of the spa facilities in the Sofitel St James Hotel. Who says we don’t pamper you?
All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning one of these fantastic prizes – or being named Critic of the Quarter and receiving a £250 meal for two at a restaurant of your choice, plus a Nespresso U machine (pictured, left) courtesy of the competition sponsor – is to leave comments and reviews about your latest restaurant experiences on SquareMeal.co.uk. The more lively, entertaining and useful to other readers your comments are, the higher your chance of scooping a prize.
The winners will be announced in October following the publication of the autumn issue of Square Meal Lifestyle magazine, so there’s plenty of time to get writing. Good luck!
