A week in the life of the Square Meal team is a mixed bag of eating and drinking, meeting and greeting, dancing, and occasional bad behaviour. Here are some snaps so you can see what we've been up to.
Swedish cookery school Aveqia has just started serving smorgasbord at lunch. We popped down on the first day to sample the goods.
As well as sampling Chop'd's new spring menu, guests at Formans were treated to its own smoked salmon. It was delicious.
Millie popped over to Boris' stomping ground, City Hall, for a charity evening. Can you find where you work on the reception floor map?
Chipotle hot sauce. What steak tartare has been waiting for. Anna and Annica went to the Chiltern Firehouse and got table turned to make way for Prince Andrew. Whatever.
Russ - being a Manchester United fan - had mixed feelings on a visit to Arsenal FC. It's hard to deny how impressive its event offerings are though.
If you're in Rotterdam, stay here. Seriously, it has free coffee, a movie room (with beanbag chairs) and is surrounded by amazing bars.
On a rainy Saturday afternoon in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Millie managed to fill some time by making her own cocktails at The Meatball Shop. What's your perfect combination?
Pacifico beer, tomato juice, lime and sea salt might seem like a bit of an odd concoction but, believe us, it's dead tasty. Get down to La Bodega Negra to see what we mean.
We thought London was going crazy for Southern US soul food – thanks to The Lockhart – but those New Yorkers are at it as well. Millie enjoyed a bloody big bowlful of shrimps 'n' grits at The Smith in Manhattan.
Nineteenth century-theming is taken seriously at 'The World's Best New Cocktail Bar 2014', The Dead Rabbit, with photos plastering the walls, sawdust on the floor and honky tonk music. Being Brits, we got Irish coffees (below) on the house. Sweet. The new thrid floor private events space is slightly more modern for practicality and, located near Wall Street, is great for events.
We've just gone to press on our spring and weddings magazines, and we thought we deserved some post-print pints in the King Charles pub, near Kings Cross.
We spent Thursday evening watching our Russ play with his band Revere at The Lexington. What a night.
After the magazine madness, we sat down with the new V&E sales boys Harry (above) and Owen (below, middle) and our new designer Rob (below, left). Pints all round.
This is as close as we were willing to get to the London Marathon this year. Far too physical. Great atmosphere though.
