Having launched as a themed venue – all novelty drinks & globetrotting snacks – Jetlag has invested in big screens & now also sells itself as a sports bar. It does a pretty good job, too, showing most of the serious footie as well as occasional rugby & American football games. What’s more, when there’s a major non-sporting occasion – royal nuptials, say – they lay on appropriate grub plus a movie for afters (think Champagne brunch followed by Four Weddings and a Funeral). The cocktail list has stuck to its jet-set roots, with creations inspired by holiday destinations – perhaps saké-based Samurai Jack (Tokyo) or a fruity Cool Runnings spiked with Appleton’s rum (Kingston, Jamaica). Meanwhile, the multinational street food brings together gyoza, quesadillas & calamari for platters with plenty of air miles on the clock.
