Tony’s has hoisted the Stars and Stripes over Brixton with the launch of this down-home US diner next to Hootananny’s live-music venue. Grilled steaks, burgers and hot chicken wings are the
mainstays of the menu, although the kitchen also knocks out other stateside favourites including beef chilli nachos, chicken Caesar salad, grilled salmon, lamb chops and New York cheesecake too.
All-day breakfasts are less patriotic, offering anything omelettes and pancakes with syrup to a full English, and there are handy deals for kids too. To drink, sodas and milkshakes line up beside
pots of tea, Becks beer and a clutch of international wines. You can hire out the downstairs space for a private bash, and the owners will also arrange cabs home at any time.
