With its vibrant entrance and cheerful staff, this neighbourhood eatery is a welcome addition to Walthamstow. A regularly changing menu (be sure to check the chalkboards) sees dishes such as red onion tart with ratatouille chutney join mussels in garlicky, white wine sauce as tempting starters. Follow with chargrilled sea bass or fillet of beef in a creamy mushroom sauce. To finish? Toffee bread, of course. And while there’s little compromise on portion size and quality of ingredients, prices remain reasonable – ideal for family gatherings or an impromptu romantic evening meal.
