This rather grand-looking Boqueria on the fringes of the Battersea Power Station neighbourhood is named after the awesomely brilliant food market in Barcelona and is noted for its authentic Spanish vibe. Grab a space at the sleek bar or squeeze into the crowded dining room for some of the best tapas in this part of town, including a trusty selection of Iberian hams, artisan cheeses, croquetas de jamón, chorizo with cider and fried squid in alioli. Meanwhile, more adventurous palates might be tempted by pork shoulder with foie gras, truffle purée and goats’ cheese sauce or roasted peppers and bonito tuna with romesco sauce. Wines are a patriotic Spanish bunch, with a clutch of cavas and sherries at good value prices. A private VIP room with its own terrace is a bonus.
