Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club
Neo-gothic architecture, pristine lawns and secret gardens make Ashdown Park Hotel a romantic setting for weddings. Located in the Sussex countryside, the venue, part of Elite Hotels, looks like a stately home and is run like a slick hotel. Of the 16 function rooms, the most impressive is the Richard Towneley Suite, a converted chapel split over two floors. On top, the Harry Clarke Room is named after a 19th-century stained glass window artist who used up to 30 shades of blue in some of the panes still remaining. The striking room holds 150 for wedding banquets or 200 for Champagne receptions. Downstairs the John Haywood Room is licensed for civil ceremonies and accommodates up to 150 guests. The Summer House, overlooking a lake, is a beautiful setting for alfresco weddings and has a less formal feel for both ceremonies and receptions. A number of smaller rooms suit intimate celebrations for between 20 and 80 guests.
