Bath’s natural springs were a place of wonder and mystery for the ancient Britons and a public bathing complex for the Romans. Two thousand years later, they attract over a million visitors a year and provide an extraordinary backdrop for functions. Hire the neo-classical Pump Room for an event and your guests will be able to walk through the Roman Baths (with a glass of Champagne, naturally) by torchlight – an experience guaranteed to impress even the most jaded VIP. Other spaces include the domed Victorian Reception Hall for up to 150 standing and the Terrace, six metres above the Roman Great Bath. Now fully enclosed, up to 80 guests can sit down to dine. These spaces are available in the evenings only (as the Pump Room acts as a restaurant during the day), but if you want to hold a daytime function, then the Kingston Room with its views of Bath Abbey, and its twin room – the Drawing Room – can be hired for up to 40 guests each.
