Grove house
This 18th-century, Grade II-listed property is one of the most striking in Roehampton University’s portfolio. Beset by four acres of gardens, the property’s planted walk ways and lily pond are understandly popular for weddings, but also a pleasant backdrop for conferencing and entertaining. The lawn area is an attractive spot for summer events, while inside the venue offers elegant Georgian interiors. The main event space is the Portrait Room, decorated in ornate oak panelling and seating 120. More intimate occasions work well in the chandelier-decked Adam Room, which seats 60. For exclusive hire, the venue holds up to 150 guests for dinner-dances or marquees are available for larger groups. A particular attraction is Grove House’s location: accessible from central London, while retaining a country-house feel. Barnes and Barnes Bridge stations, a few minutes away, are less than 20 minutes from Waterloo.
