Stunningly located on the Scarborough seafront, the Grade II-listed Spa is the largest multi-purpose venue on the North East coast. It emerged from a £6.5m refurbishment in May 2011, serving up flexible space for business as well as social events. The stand-out venue is the lovingly spruced up Grand Hall, which now has excellent AV, comfortable seats for 1,630 and a stage large enough to accommodate purpose-built conference sets or even an orchestra – the acoustics in here are exceptional. Unusually for a theatre space, it also offers abundant natural daylight (which, of course can be blacked out) and the seats on the ground floor can be removed to create 730sq m of exhibition or banqueting space. Seven further rooms and a large terrace add to the venue’s flexibility and the in-house caterers can whip up anything from an executive lunch for ten to a high-profile dinner for 650 guests.
