Located just seven miles south east of St Andrews, Kingsbarns is a Kyle Phillips-designed 18-hole links course, which regularly features in rankings of the top 100 golf courses in the world. Although the game has been enjoyed on the land since 1793, the current course and adjoining clubhouse opened just ten years ago. Kingsbarn’s egalitarian non-members policy means that visiting golfers are treated as members during their visit and is proving particularly popular with the corporate market. The intimate and welcoming clubhouse, which can accommodate up to 52 golfers, affords a spectacular view of the coastline and serves up a hearty menu; dishes range from flatbread sandwiches to surf and turf. During September, a large marquee is set up outside, offering space for an additional 100 dinner guests. The course also hosts one leg of the 72-hole Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
