The Celtic Manor Resort’s most recent acquisition is the Newbridge on Usk, a 200-year-old riverside inn-turned-award-winning restaurant near the village of Tredunnock, on the Welsh borders. Set 15 minutes away from the main resort (but with complimentary transfers), it’s the ideal venue for a small conference, with six stylish bedrooms and a 16-capacity room for private dining or meetings. The award-winning restaurant can also be hired, accommodating up to 100 people, and experienced head chef Justin Llewellyn is happy to create bespoke menus for events. The Celtic Manor team are equally obliging, with years of experience organising events and conferences for blue-chip clients. Guests have full use of the resort’s facilities, though they might prefer to relax by the river, watching the swans glide past or taking advantage of the superb fishing. It’s just two hours’ train journey from London to boot.
