The Lake Geneva region in western Switzerland stretches from the shores of the lake itself to the slopes of the Jura mountains & the summits of Alpine peaks. Rich in business & leisure facilities, the region is understandably popular with organisers of conferences, exhibitions & incentive trips. The city of Lausanne, home to the International Olympic Committee, is the area’s commercial centre, while Montreux Riviera offers a resort-like atmosphere (it’s blessed with its own microclimate). Both destinations have world-class exhibition & convention centres supported by top hotels. Even smaller Alpine resorts have plenty to offer – Leysin, for example, has 100km of pistes & a 700-capacity Alpine Conference Centre – not to mention the famously fine food & wine. Hiking & outdoor activities are popular. Served by Geneva’s international airport, the region has excellent transport links throughout.
