Set around the spa town of Yverdon-les-Bains, this area in the west of Switzerland is blessed with Alpine panoramas & the largest of the Swiss lakes, Lac Neuchâtel. Tourists have been coming to take the waters here for 15 centuries, but the modern business market is more concerned with the good selection of small to medium-sized venues for conferencing. Two lakeside conference centres are located in Yverdon & Grandson, the former holding up to 900 delegates. Yverdon’s accommodation includes some fine traditional four-star hotels with spa facilities. For evening entertaining, more unusual function rooms can be hired in castles (both Yverdon-les-Bains & Grandson castles can be hired for exclusive use) & other traditional Swiss buildings. Accessibility is another plus for London-based corporates – the area is located one hour from Geneva airport & two hours from Zurich.
