Set in the Grade-II listed former railway HQ in the centre of York, Cedar Court Grand is the city’s first five-star hotel. Following a £25m refurbishment in 2010, it provides a stylish backdrop to meetings, private dining and residential conferences, offering 107 spacious bedrooms – including 13 suites – and nine meeting and event rooms able to accommodate up to 120 for a reception. Meetings can be held in a series of historical wood-paneled rooms or contemporary suites with built-in flat screen TVs. A designated corporate business team provides assistance before, during and after an event. Another boon is the hotel’s attractive terrace, where a marquee can be erected to accommodate 220, overlooking the York Wall. Delegates can also take advantage of the chic cocktail bar and award-winning restaurant, as well as the spa, which has a number treatment rooms.
