On the banks of Killarney’s largest lake, Lough Leane in County Kerry, The Europe Hotel & Resort reopened in 2008 following a £70m redevelopment. Among its shiny new assets is one of Ireland’s largest spas, ESPA at The Europe as well as 187 swish bedrooms, enjoying either lakeside or golf course views. The sleek conference centre, surrounded by spacious outdoor terraces, is just what you’d expect of a five-star venue. Each of the eight meeting rooms has natural daylight, ceiling-mounted projectors, automatic screens and blackout blinds. The largest event space is the impressive Ballroom with a large pre-function area and bar. The Panorama Restaurant, with stunning views over the lake and mountains, can also be hired exclusively for 400. The Europe Hotel and Resort lies immediately adjacent to Killarney Golf and Fishing Club, which was the venue for the Irish Open in summer 2010.
