Venue Review of ZSL Whipsnade Zoo
Located in the Chiltern Hills, only 50 minutes’ drive from central London, ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is one of Europe’s largest wildlife conservation parks. It is also a flexible event venue, able to host anything from board meetings and awards dinners to wedding ceremonies (it has a civil licence). The largest function room is the Cloisters Suite, which can hold 600 theatre-style delegates, 400 diners or 600 reception guests. It also has its own bar, dancefloor and PA system. Like the rest of the event spaces at the venue, it opens out onto a terrace with beautifully manicured lawns just beyond. From here, views of the park’s wild animals stretch as far as the eye can see. The Phoenix and Griffin Suites hold 300 for smaller events. All profits from events held at the venue go back into ZSL’s conservation projects around the world. Whipsnade Zoo also prides itself on its dedicated eco policy.
