A decade on, Rocco Forte’s gleaming presence on the River Irwell is still Manchester’s most fashionable five-star hotel. The building makes a bold architectural statement with its curved glass façade and airy contemporary interiors, while the atmosphere strikes just the right balance between professionalism and fun. A self-contained floor with a separate entrance at street level is dedicated to conferences and banqueting. It has a number of large spaces as well as a varied range of meeting rooms, including a wood-panelled boardroom and a well-equipped business centre. The hotel’s 165 bedrooms are decked out with stylish furnishings and facilities, while the River Bar and Restaurant serves up modern British cuisine. Following advice from a nutrititional chemist, the hotel’s delegate menus now feature dishes such as Brazil nut, cranberry and mozzarella salads and roasted fruits with honey and almonds.
