Improvements to the tune of £7.5m have been made at Windsor’s Harte & Garter Hotel, which reopened after a 12-month refurbishment in 2007. Each of the hotel’s 79 bedrooms (some with impressive views of Windsor Castle) & seven private dining & meeting rooms has been refurbished, catapulting the mid-19th-century property into the 21st century. Its elegant ballroom combines high ceilings & period features with modern touches such as a electronic black-out blinds & air conditioning. With access via a grand oak staircase, this impressive space can hold up to 200 delegates for a conference or 160 for a private dinner. A range of other private dining rooms & smaller meeting rooms capable of holding up to 40 people are also available, with free W-Fi throughout. A luxurious new spa, housed in the building’s original stable, is due to open in January 2008, with four treatment rooms & a Rasul therapy room.
