Sitting in 300 acres of Hertfordshire countryside just thirty minutes from the West End, it’s no surprise that ‘London’s country estate’ is such a hit with corporate groups. A five-star hotel set in an18th-century manor house might sound grand, but contemporary interiors are refreshingly relaxed, reflecting the no dress code ethos. As well as 227 rooms and suites, three restaurants and 23 modern meeting rooms that can hold up to 450 delegates, there’s a championship golf course and an award-winning spa, Sequoia. For alfresco entertaining, the three-acre Walled Garden is a particularly enticing space, though we also love the outdoor pool and summer ‘beach’. The creative in-house events team organises teambuilding exercises like BBQ masterclasses, beach volleyball or matches on the Premiership-standard football pitch. Fine wine tasting and cookery classes are popular for incentives.
