One of the country’s most elaborate royal palaces and home to some of England’s most famous kings and queens – notably Henry VIII – Hampton Court Palace is an unforgettable location for events. Over the centuries, the palace has hosted some astoundingly lavish celebrations. Today, it still provides stunning rooms for entertaining, from grand banquets in the Tudor Great Hall to elegant wedding receptions in a state apartments or the pretty Garden Room. Every room is dripping in history, with centuries of stories to tell and original features still in fine condition. The King’s Eating Room was the king’s retreat during public banquets, where courtiers would be invited to watch him eat – appropriately, it’s now available for dinner parties – while the King’s and Queen’s Guard Chambers are private spaces for small groups. The most recent opening is the Undercroft, where 220 guests can dance post-banquet.
