With centuries of history as a rural retreat, Stapleford Park is still charming present-day guests with its immaculately kept house, top-notch facilities and 500 acres of parkland. The country-pile ambience suits away days and incentive trips, combining ample function spaces with plenty of extra-curricular diversions. The estate takes in a championship golf course and offers plenty of space for traditional country pursuits – shooting and falconry are popular. A total of 55 different bedrooms, each designed by famous names such as Sanderson and David Hicks, have a comfortable, homely feel, particularly those in the main house. The spa includes a swimming pool, steam room, beauty therapy rooms and gym. Naturally, the venue’s charms – sweeping lawns, an elegant Orangery and stately Grand Hall – are not lost on brides-to-be; weddings are a strong suit here. The venue is within two hours’ drive of London.
