One of the most famous ships in the world, The Royal Yacht Britannia has proudly served Queen and country, travelling over a million miles in her lifetime and coming to rest in Scotland. She has also welcomed some of the world’s most powerful figures, including Sir Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela and Bill Clinton. Now permanently berthed in Edinburgh, Britannia makes a lovely venue for evening events – from chairman’s dinners, product launches and banquets to glittering drinks receptions. Dinners for up to 176 or receptions for 380 can be hosted in the impressive State Apartments or on the Royal Deck, which has a glass-walled dining room for 80 seated guests. All food is freshly prepared in the Royal Galley by the ship’s executive chef. After dinner, the events team can arrange a traditional Beat the Retreat ceremony, while a ceilidh or jazz and swing band are other popular options.
