It’s played host to politicians, royalty and the glitterati since its inception in 1906, but Crathorne Hall Hotel (part of Hand Picked Hotels) prides itself on an unstarchy approach to hospitality. Set in 15 acres of gardens on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, the property has 37 recently refurbished bedrooms and a fine-dining restaurant, offering accomplished, modern British cooking and lovely views of the lawns. There are also a handful of attractive spaces for entertaining and business. Meeting rooms for up to 120 delegates share the venue’s stately style and are supported by some competitive day delegate rates. For entertaining, the elegant Drawing Room provides a comfortable setting for cocktails before a private dinner in one of the suites. The hotel is also popular for weddings (the total capacity is 100 for dinner) and well known for the warmth of the welcome at its afternoon tea.
