Opened by the Prince of Wales in 1872, this museum occupies an impressive Grade II*-listed Victorian building, where the three main spaces maintain many of their original 19th-century features. The grand Marble Floor has an arched glass roof with wrap-around cast-iron balconies and coloured up-lights to add drama and ambience to evening events. This also makes a great space for theatre-style award ceremonies or 300-guest dinner dances and has full AV requirements covered. Dotted with artefacts and vintage toys, the Front Room Gallery combined with the Marble Floor works well for receptions, while on the lower ground floor, the Summerly Room can host dinner for 80.
