Standing opposite the Lloyd’s building, Balls Brothers’ Lime Street Exchange has recently emerged from a £300,000 refurb. Freshly decorated interiors take their cues from the traditional French wine bar, lifted with quirky modern touches. The two private dining spaces seat eight and ten guests each for food from the revamped menu, which covers lighter options as well as tapas-style and sharing plates. Even the happy hour has gone upmarket – come 4pm, discounts apply to more than 30 wines, around 60 cocktails and an (improved) beer selection. Exclusive hire is available over the weekend – the space will accommodate 450 guests, with capacities of 350 and 100 respectively.
