Part of the Late Night London collection, Balls Brothers’ Bishopsgate Exchange occupies some prime City real estate next to Liverpool Street station. Fresh from a recent £150,000 refurbishment, the open-plan interior has the easy sophistication of a Parisan wine bar, with an entertaining space that holds up to 250 guests. For smaller events, there are three wine-themed private rooms, suitable for dining or meetings for up to eight people. The menu has also seen a revamp, with lighter options including a shellfish station. Even the happy hour has gone upmarket – come 4pm, discounts apply to more than 30 wines, around 60 cocktails and an (improved) beer selection.
