One of London’s best-loved theatres, The Old Vic has sat proudly on The Cut’s westerly corner for almost 200 years. Its classic Victorian auditorium is just as handsome as the fine exterior suggests, with seating arranged in a horseshoe shape in front of the stage and triple-tier boxes either side. Spacious front-of-house areas are linked by a central staircase and the back-of-house spaces are just as captivating, such as the 200-capacity rehearsal room. Venue hire is available for daytime events – conferences, filming and lectures, 'an audience with...'-style events and Sunday concerts, for example. It is also possible to arrange backstage tours.
