Hidden in the basement of the creative hub of the Tea Building, beneath East London’s coolest pizza parlour, Pizza East, Concrete is a minimalist event space that morphs into a nightclub at weekends. Quiz and literary nights are popular in the week, as are pizza-making classes and live music. Available to hire in its entirety from Sunday to Wednesday and on Thursday to Saturday from 6pm to 9pm, the venue can accommodate lunches and dinner parties for up to 80, or receptions of 275. As you’d expect, the catering majors in Pizza East’s acclaimed pizzas, but there’s a good range of antipasti too. There’s a full DJ booth with great AV kit, and the bar staff mix a mean cocktail.
