The dropping of the Phene’s ‘Arms’ heralded its transformation from an upmarket local into a clubby townhouse-style bar by the folk behind Ronnie Scott’s and the Old Vic. It has already won a loyal following among SW3’s well-heeled residents and lends itself readily to events thanks to three distinct spaces. Choose from the cosy upstairs Lounge, with its purple sofas, thick drapes and open fire – great for winter entertaining – or the cooler Conservatory for screenings. In summer, the stand-out space is undoubtedly the lovely Mediterranean Garden, which has space for 20 seated or 45 standing as well as heating and contemporary furniture. Bookings for this space are essential.
