Runner bar view
The former HQ of Lloyd’s bank on Cornhill delivers all the architectural punch you’d expect: marble columns line the cavernous space, which makes an imposing art deco backdrop for a reception. With a capacity of 350, this is a room for large-scale entertaining, though two separate spaces – the Laurent-Perrier Champagne Room (for 22 seated or 40 standing) and the Library, which can accommodate four to six guests – suit smaller groups. Like its more formal sister upstairs, Green’s Restaurant & Oyster Bar, the menu features many British classics. Combined, the two venues hold 450 for receptions. The Runner opens at 7.30am, so makes a good option for breakfast meetings.
