Old and new are combined to stunning effect at the Town Hall Hotel, which opened in 2010 in an imposing Grade II-listed building in Bethnal Green. Its ground-breaking fine diner, the Michelin-starred Viajante, has been joined by the crowd-pleasing Corner Room, both presided over by head chef Nuno Mendes who also oversees the hotel’s banqueting. Eight function rooms range from the imposing Bethnal Hall, a former council chamber seating 188, to the smaller Deputy’s and Councillor’s Rooms (each seating 36). Clean-lined bedrooms and apartments include the largest suite in London: 220sq m with triple-height ceilings and a dining area for 20. A pool and gym complete the offering.
