Located on the ground floor of the Tea Building, Pizza East combines the crowd-pleasing cooking of the traditional pizzeria with a hip industrial look that suits the Shoreditch location. Concrete walls, exposed beams and steel refectory tables characterise the spacious interior, which has plenty of long tables for groups and a semi-private alcove for 18. An open kitchen turns out a keenly-priced mix of deliciously crisp pizza and hot and cold antipasti plates that lend themselves to sharing. The flexible party menu at £30 per head allows organisers to pick and mix. Late opening hours – 2am on Friday and Saturday – and a DJ from Thursday to Saturday add to the party-friendly vibe.
