Housed in the Kings Place cultural centre in King’s Cross, the Rotunda Bar and Restaurant hugs the waterfront at Battlebridge basin. Modern ingredients-led Brit food chimes with the sleek surrounds; home cured Scottish salmon might be followed by a Northumbrian rack of lamb (from the venue’s own farm) with sweet potato puree. Groups of up to 24 can take the private dining room, which is straight-talking enough for meetings as well. The sizeable waterside alfresco eating and drinking area makes Rotunda a lovely spot for evening receptions come summer. The bar has a good selection of beers, spirits and cocktails but it’s the wine list that has received particular praise.
