Venue Review of Christmas at The HC
For the sixth season running, Impulse Events will be in charge of parties at the HC in Marylebone. The theme for 2011 is 'Winter Wonderland' following a tried-&-tested formula of clean, cool decor & slick production, entertainment & food. Guests arrive for fizz on the mezzanine, before moving down to dine under a canopy of fairylights & a centrepiece spiral chandelier. Dinner might start with smoked duck & apple remoulade, before roast sirloin of beef with horseradish potatoes. Variations on the sit-down format include lunchtime events & a more casual reception-style set-up with wintery canapes & bowl food. Like 2010 packages, this year's prices start from £90, though add-ons, like pianists, vodka luges and jazz bands, are worth exploring for larger budgets.
